Sydney to co-host IGLFA World Championships in 2023
Sydney Rangers FC, in partnership with The Flying Bats and Pride Football Australia, is delighted to announce that Sydney will be a co-host for the International Gay and Lesbian Football Association’s (IGLFA) World Championship in 2023. The tournament will take place in the week leading up to the huge celebrations around World Pride 2023, taking place for the first time in Sydney in February of that year. What a massive three weeks it’s going to be… we can’t wait!
In a first for IGLFA and to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the IGLFA World Championships, the tournament will be split between two locations with a nine month gap. We’re delighted to be sharing the festivities with Washington D.C. All things being well, we look forward to sending representative teams to that tournament in June 2022 – it’s going to be a fantastic occasion after a difficult few years for international travel.
IGLFA will be announcing more details including important differences between the two tournaments in due course, so please keep your eyes peeled on our socials for more information. We’re committed to putting on a truly Aussie experience and plans are well underway!
Stay tuned for more information, and if you’re interested in joining us as a partner or sponsor, we would love to hear from you. Please get in touch via firstname.lastname@example.org.
