Over 35s – Golden Oldies – 2018 Season – Division 3

In a year that started off with some big wins, the Golden Oldies had high expectations for another solid year and finals appearance. With the top 5 teams clearing from the rest of the pack, the make up of the top 4 came down to the final week of the regular season.
Finishing in third spot the boys knew they’d have to do it the hard way but after scraping through the first play off game after a penalty shootout, the boys played the game of the season in the second play off game to beat Lakemba 6-0 to secure a place in the Grand Final.
Whilst the Grand Final appearance didn’t end with the result they were hoping for, the season was another one that the boys were able to hold their heads high with solid performances & sportsmanship with one of the opposition teams telling us that they’d voted us best and fairest in the competition. High praise for the boys who continue to grow this team every year.
